Why You Should Use Mulch
Using Paul Bunyan Products Premium Colored Landscape Mulch is
a great way to accent your landscape designs with brilliant colors.
Using mulch also helps your plants grow better. Mulch acts as
a weed barrier by preventing weeds from breaking through the
soil. Mulch also prevents soil compaction, helps maintain a balanced
soil temperature, and helps the soil to retain moisture.
Color Makes a Difference
The vibrant colors of Paul Bunyan
Products Premium Colored Landscape Mulch last all season, from
spring to fall. This consistency and longevity of color sets
our mulch apart from others. Paul Bunyan Products Premium Colored
Landscape Mulch is offered in rich, earth tone shades to complement
any landscape design. We can also provide mulch in custom colors;
just tell us what you need. No matter what color you choose,
it's a "brilliant" way to enhance your plants and shrubs.
Tips on Using Mulch
To prevent fungus growth, we recommend proper application of
Paul Bunyan Products Premium Colored Landscape Mulch. Any remaining
old mulch should be removed before new mulch is applied for the
season. As a general rule of thumb, mulch should be applied at
a depth of 2-4 inches. Lightly raking the surface of your mulch
at mid-season will revive the color intensity and circulate additional
air to the plant roots, promoting growth.
Calculating the Amount of Mulch You
Need
Although lawns and garden beds are measured
in feet, mulch is purchased in "yards". A "yard"
of mulch is actually a cubic yard - one yard wide by one yard
high by one yard deep. To calculate the amount of mulch you need
for a specific area, the following formula converts feet to cubic
yards.
